Firstly, a 2-hour webinar on 6th August at 19.30 and a practical workshop on Sunday 6th September 10.00am - 14.00pm at Charismatic Pets in Warminster. Please ensure that you can commit to both dates before booking on this course!\n\nThere are only 12 spaces so book now to avoid disappointment!\n\n \n\nCourse Content:\n\nDuring the course, Lucy will introduce the principles of canine conditioning for clinical practice, including force-free exercise interventions, practical techniques for teaching and performing exercises, and appropriate progressions and regressions.\n\nThe session will also explore adapting conditioning programmes for nervous or over-aroused dogs, the fundamentals of exercise prescription, and practical equipment considerations to support safe and effective implementation.\n\n \n\nPresenter: Lucy Mills. Chartered physiotherapist MSc, BSc, ACPAT A.\n\nFollowing completion of a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy at Cardiff University in 2016, Lucy initially completed junior NHS rotations in MSk, respiratory and rehab specialities before securing a senior role in outpatient MSk.. She went on to complete an MSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy at Hartpury University in 2023, where her dissertation investigated the effects of canine conditioning exercises on weight bearing.\n\nLucy gained clinical experience at Smart Veterinary Referrals, specialising in chronic pain management and sports medicine, before leading a rehabilitation service at Rosemary Lodge Hospital,  a veterinary referral hospital, where she worked predominantly with post-operative orthopaedic patients. She now runs her own veterinary physiotherapy clinic on the outskirts of Bath, treating a diverse caseload of companion, working and sporting dogs. Her rehabilitation approach places exercise-based medicine at the centre of treatment, using targeted conditioning programmes to improve function, performance and long-term musculoskeletal health.\n\nLiving with a rescue dog sparked Lucy's particular interest in force-free conditioning and cooperative care, shaping her approach to exercise prescription for dogs of all temperaments and abilities.\n\n
