Kim Sheader was due to present at the ACPAT Seminar 2025 but sadly was unable to make the day due to personal circumstances. She has kindly agreed to deliver her presentation as a webinar.  *This will be free for those who purchased a seminar ticket but  will also be available for a fee for anybody else who is keen to learn more about this topic.

Presenter: Kim Sheader. BSc, MSc, MCSP, HCPC, ACPAT Cat A

Kim qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2000 and then spent approximately 10 years working with human patients. In particular, she focused on hospital inpatients and respiratory physiotherapy, including ICU and emergency care.

Kim subsequently undertook a Post Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy at the Royal Veterinary College, London. Since 2012 she worked part time as a Veterinary Physiotherapist at Davies Vet Specialists while also providing a mobile physiotherapy service to veterinary practices and pet carers closer to her home. Since 2016 Kim came on board to help develop the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Service from the ground up at The Ralph Veterinary Referral Centre, while finally opened its doors in February 2019.

As Head of the service, Kim has been hands-on treating a variety of patients in multiple disciplines including neurology, orthopaedics, internal medicine, dentistry and emergency and critical care. She also makes splints and other supports for dogs and cats. This is in addition to also developing care pathways to integrate physiotherapy within the other areas of the hospital and building the rehab department with the addition of more ACPAT Physiotherapists and a Rehabilitation Nurse. She also hopes to undertake research that contributes to the ongoing improvement of small animal physiotherapy care, both at The Ralph and beyond.
